Description

Shapes with Colors is an addictive and fun game. If you like Phase 10 or Rummy, you will find this game almost irresistible. The rules are easy to learn and the mechanics are enticing to say the least. The game plays 2-6 players, runs about 30 minutes and is recommended for 12+.
The deck is shuffled and cards are dealt to each player to reveal a card with the same color shape and background. (Ex. Blue Heart with a Blue Background) The deck is reshuffled and then each player gets seven cards to start the game. A random goal card is selected for the players to complete. The top card of the deck is turned over to start the game.

The first player can draw the top card of the deck or the top card of the discard pile. If the player does not have enough cards to match a goal, they will discard a card and end their turn. If a player has enough cards to complete a goal on their turn, they will lay down the completed goal cards and then draw the number of cards needed to fill their hand back to eight cards from the deck. Not the discard pile. (Ex. Player lays down 4 Green Shapes, Player then draws 4 cards from the top of the deck.) Once the player has added the new cards to their hand, they will discard a card and end their turn. Players can only lay down one set of cards per turn. Even if they have more than one set of goals in their hand.
The best part about this game is that you can use your completed goals to help with goals in your current hand. Lets say you have 3 Hearts already completed on the table. You are trying to complete 4 Green Shapes. You have three in your hand, but need one more. You also have an extra heart in your hand. You notice one of your completed hearts is green. You can switch it out for the Heart you have in your hand. How this works is you will first lay down the 3 Green Shapes in your hand. Then you will lay the lone heart you have next to the completed 3 Hearts to signal that you are moving one of those Hearts. You will move the Green Heart from the completed goal over to the new goal of 4 Green Shapes. Then just add the additional heart to the completed goal of 3 Hearts.
Players can not play on other players completed goals nor can a player add cards to a completed goal. The goals have to be the exact number of cards to the number listed on the goal card.

There are different goal cards to make each time you play a little different. They can be played in any order as you collect the shapes or colors you need to complete the goals.
The first person to finish all of the goals wins.

Good luck and happy gaming!
